PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI IS NOT COMING BACK
President Muhammadu Buhari who embarked
on a 10- day medical leave on Thursday 19th January, 2017 and who is
expected to resume his duties as president tomorrow Monday 6th
February, 2017 will in fact not be coming back to Nigeria.
While speculations surrounding his
death continue to gain credible momentum, reports say the president has asked
that his leave be extended.
Although it first came as a rumour,
reports that Buhari’s medical vacation has been extended now appears to be
incontrovertibly accurate.
While the reason for the extension
has been hinged on medical grounds to the effect that the president still has
to complete and receive the results of a series of tests recommended by his
doctors, nothing has been said about the period of the extension and when the
president should be expected back.

In the absence of any time frame,
it appears that Buhari’s medical vacation extension is indefinite.
Femi Adesina, the special adviser
to the president on media and publicity said on Sunday, January 5th,
2017 that the president has to “complete
and receive the results of a series of tests recommended by his doctors.”
It will interest you to know that
this is the same Femi Adesina who spoke on national TV that the president is
not on a medical vacation but one of leisure and that speculations that the
president is dead or ill are false because the president is healthy.
Should we now believe that Buhari’s
vacation has been extended for medical
reasons or that he is simply not coming back at all because he is no longer
amongst the living?
