TRUMP TO EXCLUDE CITIZENS OF SOME COUNTRIES FROM GETTING AMERICAN VISA

The president of the US, Donald
Trump, in a bid to make the US a better place, is expected to approve some
executive orders that include visa denial for citizens of some Middle Eastern and
African countries.
The countries to be excluded are
Syria, Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen.
An undisclosed congressional aide
and immigration expert confirmed Trump’s administration’s visa denial plan. Also,
a tweet by the American president is believed to give further credence to this
report.
According to Stephen Legomsky, the
Chief Counsel at US citizenship and immigration services in the last
administration, Donald Trump has the legal power to limit refugee admissions
and issuance of visas to specific countries so long as it is in public interest.
Recall that during his campaign,
Trump proposed to ban Muslims migrating to the US as a preventive measure against
jihadist attacks. Hence the idea to deny Muslim countries from obtaining
American visas is only a fulfillment of part of his campaign promises.
Trump is expected to sign the first
of the orders at the Department of Homeland Security where immigration and
border security-related issues are also being handled.
