RESIGN NOW IF YOU HAVE ANY SHRED OF HONOUR- AISHA CHALLENGES BUHARI

Aisha Yesufu, one of the co-conveners of the Bring Back Our Girls Group (BBOG), has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to tender his resignation as President of Nigeria.

Yesufu made this call as a reaction to President Buhari’s letter to the Senate stating that he will not sack and prosecute the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal.

Babachir Lawal allegedly diverted N200m meant to fight humanitarian crisis in the North East, and the Senate had called for his arrest and prosecution.

In flagrant disregard of the Senate’s call, President Buhari has cleared the seemingly guilty Lawal. The implication f this is that Lawal will not be sacked or prosecuted by the Federal Government.

Buhari declared Babachir Lawal a free man but has chosen to go after Dasuki as well as members of the Nigerian bench for doing the same thing Lawal did.

The president who campaigned under the banner of change and who swore to fight corruption seems to be making the fight vindictive as he has chosen to clear those thieves within his circle and prosecute those outside of it.

Owing to this condemnable move by President Buhari, Aisha Yesufu has stated that if the president has any shred of honour, character and integrity, he should resign.
