MMM RETURNS: NIGERIANS JUBILATE.

Many Nigerians became bitter, confused and depressed, after their monies were frozen sometime in mid- December of 2016 by the most popular ponzi scheme in the country, MMM.

Surely, many became objects of ridicule in the eyes of their family, friends, relatives, neighbours and so on. Their predicament seemed to provoke laughter than pity as even those who appeared to sympathize with them were in fact mocking them surreptitiously.

Many of them did not participate in the joy of the yuletide season. Regret not only filled their hearts but it choked the air around them. Indeed, the painful part of their misfortune was when someone said: “But I told you so.”

Pioneers of the scheme had said that it was only suspended and that the suspension was to enable them reorganize the scheme to make it better. They tried to assure Nigerians of its return but many refused to believe.

Some exclaimed: “We are finished!” Some committed suicide (so the media made us believe) while others probably only attempted suicide. I’ll rather not consider what the rest did or attempted to do.

The situation was an abysmal one. Unwholesome thoughts undoubtedly played and replayed in the minds of such people so frequently that their minds became like DVD players. If you are one, then you know what I am talking about.

Yesterday on Friday the 13^th of January 2017 while I was at work, I heard people screaming, “MMM is back!” Trailing the screams were flamboyant smiles, uncontrolled laughter, dancing, singing and jumping. Suddenly, people who were dejected became exceedingly cheerful.

Flabbergasting!

The elation was soon at every nook and cranny of the country. At first it seemed too good to be true not until participants’ request to GH began to be processed in the early hours of Saturday 14^th January 2016.

It seemed like another new year. People refused to go to bed. Phone lines were congested as people were calling to congratulate one another. Also, social media was overly active. Many struggled to stay awake in order to be among the first to GH.

Well, I couldn’t sleep too because I had to write this.

Anyway, I understand people are still skeptical especially those who have been matched to PH. Some people would not want to PH because they think those requesting to GH will take their money and abandon the system.

It’s a comical picture. Nonetheless, you have nothing to fear because I have it on good authority that many of your persecutors have indicated keen interest in joining the scheme.

The recession keeps biting harder.
