FULANI HERDSMEN ATTACKING NIGERIANS ARE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS- NORTHERN GOVERNORS FORUM.

Northern Governors Forum (NGF) Meeting

The Northern Governors Forum (NGF) has alleged that most of the herdsmen responsible for the attacks on communities in Nigeria are immigrants from Senegal and Mali.

The Chairman of the Forum, Kashim Shettima, Borno State Governor, disclosed this to journalists at the end of the Forum’s meeting in Kaduna on Tuesday, January 24^th, 2017.

The Chairman emphasized the need for every Nigerian to see security as his or her business, pointing out that the nation would remain backward if there was no peace.

The joint meeting which had northern traditional council of emirs and chiefs in attendance, discussed issues of insecurity, the management of common assets, and measures to move the region to greater heights.

People have expressed concern over the fact that if the Fulani herdsmen that have been causing fatal clashes in communities around the country are illegal immigrants as the NGF has said, the proper thing to do is send them away rather than accommodating them with a grazing law.
