DONALD TRUMP’S INAUGURATION INCITES VIOLENT PROTESTS IN MANY PARTS OF THE WORLD

Anti-Trump protest in Washington DC

Donald Trump who was installed as the 45th president of the US on Friday 20th January, 2017, had emerged as winner of an election which is believed to be the most controversial presidential campaign in the history of the country.

According to reports, while the oath- taking process was in progress on Friday, citizens of the country and other residents took to the streets in protest against Trump. They chanted anti- Trump songs and vandalized properties.

The protests which started on Friday progressed into Saturday as protesters who were mainly dressed in black shattered the windows of buildings as well as cars.

The protests were so rigorous that it took the police quite a lot to calm the protesters; many of whom were armed with placards containing inscriptions aimed at mocking Trump.

Apart from the US, there have been protests in other parts of the world such as Sydney in Australia and London in England.

In Sydney, about 3000 protesters gathered at the Hyde Park before marching on the US consulate with placards in their hands while in London, protesters displayed a banner that read: ‘Build bridges not walls.’

It beats my imagination that when such happens in Africa, they say Africans are not civilized. What then will you call this?
