DONALD TRUMP INVITES JONATHAN TO INAUGURATION, EXCLUDES BUHARI

| President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria and President elect of US, Donald Trump |
President elect, Donald Trump, whose inauguration as the 45th
president of the United States of America comes up tomorrow the 20th
of January 2017, has invited Goodluck Jonathan while he shunned Buhari.
This claim emanated from Deji Adeyanju, a Twitter user with
close ties to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and although its authenticity
cannot be confirmed, it appears rather believable because Trump has not really
shown Buhari any friendly gesture.
Buhari, it will seem, would like to be Trump’s friend as he
was among the first world leaders to place a congratulatory phone call to Trump
after he defeated the Democratic party’s candidate, Hilary Clinton, but Trump
did not and has not reciprocated the gesture in any way.
As a matter of fact, owing to comments that have been made by
Trump, it is rather glaring that the soon-to-be president of the US despises
the Nigerian president who has not shown competence in tackling national issues.
This has left Nigerian government officials as well as some
of her citizens worried about the nature of relationship that would exist
between the two countries after the exit of outgoing president Barack Obama.
Nonetheless, Trump seems to have a soft spot for former
president, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan.
