APC EXPELS MEMBER WHO DEFECTED FROM PDP
Senator James Akpanudoedeghe,
Nigeria’s former minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, has been
expelled from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The former minister who defected to
the APC from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), had engaged in lingering
political battle with top members of the party from Akwa Ibom State where he
hails from.
A letter addressed by the party in the State
to the national vice chairman and zonal chairman of the party proves the
decision to send the former senator away was final.
Senator J.J. Udoedeghe was, by the
letter, accused of sponsoring thugs and disgruntled elements; making publications
with intention to malign, ridicule and further cause confusion and disunity
within the party amongst other things.
On the basis of the allegations
which the senator did not respond to, the party proceeded to expel him in line
with article 13.7 (vi) of the APC.
